How to Make the Most Out of Your Wedding Hair & Makeup Test Run

It’s almost as crucial to have your hair and make-up done on your wedding day as it is the dress! On one of the biggest days of your life, it’s time to look and feel your best.

Most stylists will offer a trial makeup and hair to ensure that you are both on the same page. This way, your wedding day runs smoothly. It’s a good time to experiment with different styles. It’s time to experiment! You might find that you love the style you initially thought you’d like, or even fall in love with them more.

Check out these tips before you start your trial run to get the most from your time.

Bring Pictures and an Open Mind

You’re visiting a specialist, someone who does this every day. Listen to your stylist’s opinion as well. You should be able to provide pictures and ideas, but you also need to listen to their thoughts. She may have ideas that you hadn’t thought of, or she might know about issues you could avoid on your wedding day. It’s important to let your stylist experiment so that you and she can determine what works.

Bring your Makeup Bag

She will probably use products she likes, but knowing what you use regularly and love can help her. She may ask to see your normal look or the shades.

Bring your Accessories

Bring any jewelry or hairpieces you wear to the trial run. It gives your stylist the time to play with your accessories, and you can see how you like them. Once you’ve added the accessories, you might change your mind.

Prepare Your Skin and Hair

Do a mini-facial at home and deep condition your hair the day before your trial. The day before you go for your trial, do a mini facial at home. Deep condition your hair (don’t shampoo it). Make sure you drink plenty of water, and that your hair and skin are ready for the stylist’s magic.

Wear a Similar Neckline or Style to Your Dress

You won’t be wearing your dress for the trial, but bring something similar to wear. You can see how the style looks on your hair, makeup, and skin. It may be that the style you were hoping for doesn’t suit you or the style the stylist suggests looks great.

Have fun, and most importantly! Your make-up and hair trial will be a memorable day. Relax, unwind, and bring a friend to have some fun as you prepare for your most important day!
